JP Morgan Chase
Data Scientist Analyst
At JPMorgan Chase, I work on the Focused Analytics Solutions Team, an early-careers rotational program where I gain consulting experience across different Chase product lines. Each rotation brings a new challenge, whether it’s optimizing in-app notifications for 53 million users (saving $2.5 million), building machine learning models to personalize content, or mapping product dependencies across 2,000+ tech teams. The variety has sharpened my ability to quickly understand a product’s needs, analyze key metrics, and deliver data-driven solutions that make an impact.

At the UW College of Engineering, I worked on a unique project that combined machine learning with insurance underwriting. I built a model to assess jewelry theft risk, improving insurance pricing accuracy by 7.1%. To make the model work, I had to source crime data, clean it up, and figure out how to integrate it effectively—basically, a crash course in turning raw data into real business impact. I also presented my findings to stakeholders, making sure both technical and non-technical audiences could understand and act on the insights.

AI & Data Science Intern
As an intern at Chase, I dove into customer data to uncover insights that shaped product decisions. I analyzed the journeys of over 20 million users, which ultimately led to the removal of a travel product that wasn’t performing well. I also built customer personas using machine learning and helped identify pain points in Chase Travel, where billions of dollars in transactions take place. It was an exciting experience to see how data could drive tangible improvements in user experience.

Data Science Consultant
In this role, I worked on the Cyber Security Team within Optum (a UnitedHealth Group subsidiary). As interns, we were tasked with creating dashboards in Tableau for leadership to monitor cyber response team KPIs.
To accomplish this task, our intern team created over 20 custom graphs using various data sources. We regularly met with different teams across the business to understand their input, ultimately creating dashboard products that catered to all teams. Additionally, I was responsible for the UX/UI design of the dashboards, which leadership standardized throughout the security operations center.
